Our summary of what the GOV.UK product teams have been up to recently, and what to look out for next.
10 things we've done recently
In the last few weeks, we have:
- published a GOV.UK proposition which clearly explains what GOV.UK is and isn’t for
- released a beta version of a listings page for announcements of upcoming statistics publications (which will soon replace the statistics publication hub)
- built an improved index of GOV.UK blogs so users can filter blogs by organisation, and which includes a list of all recently published blogposts
- updated our guidance on use of the the “groups” format
- improved specialist browse (see blog post for details)
- launched the renew a patent live service
- set up a new request route for content advice
- built a broken link checker for government publishers
- made it easier for publishers to tell the difference between preview and live environments
- migrated the UKTI blog to GOV.UK
10 things coming up soon
In the next few weeks, we’ll:
- continue with our redesign of cross-site browse and navigation (watch out for more blogposts on this)
- publish the GDS business plan
- be able to measure how far users scroll down GOV.UK pages
- remove logos from the landing pages of organisations which are exempt from GOV.UK
- design a better index page for embassies, consulates and high commissions
- build a finder for the Air Accident Investigation Branch
- work on supporting third party publishing to allow transition of HMRC Manuals
- continue improvements to the HMRC contacts application
- allow publishers more flexibility in setting the ‘finish time’ for consultations
- continue updates of our smart answers and calculators
